As a first-year teacher during the 2000-01 school year, I was constantly looking for new ideas to make World History come alive for my students. Because of my beginning graduate work in educational technology, I really understood the benefits that technology could bring to the classroom. Therefore, when the opportunity to take this workshop was presented, I knew that I wanted to be a part of it.

I hope that this workshop will equip me with the foundational knowledge to use this new software in my classroom. As well,I desire to teach these skills to my students so that they may apply their knowlege of World History concepts. The benefits would be two-fold. First, the use of technology would increase interest in their subject area. Secondly, it would increase their technological capabilities which will aid them in the future in whatever they decide to do.
