I am a fifth grade teacher at Linwood Elementary.

I wanted to participate in this workshop because I already integrate technology into some of my curriculum, and wanted to expand my repertoire of software. I also like helping other teachers be creative in their approach to curriculum. I am one of the people in my building that others routinely come to for assistance when they have technology questions, so it will be natural for me to help them try new things or use familiar software applications with their students to teach curriculum content and meet district outcomes.

I hope to learn more about PowerPoint, specifically, what makes a good Power Point presentation, and about many of the other applications that were on our survey list at the beginning of the workshop.

I am struggling with integrating technology into my classroom primarily due to limited access to necessary hardware and software. I hope that this workshop will help me better work with the technology coordinators and administration to improve the usefulness of the technology that we have and provide ways for teachers to directly impact what is purchased in the future.

Students today are more willing, excited, and motivated to do a task on the computer than they are to do the same task with pencil and paper. I plan to take advantage of this enthusiasm to help students meet curricular standards as they expand their technological proficiency and higher level thinking skills.
