Cultural Time Capsule

Cultural Time CapsuleAssignment: Students will work in teams of 2-3 students, to develop a [base "]Cultural Time Capsule[per thou]. The group will be given to classmates using a PowerPoint slide show.

Objectives: 1) Internet searches and resources are used. 2) Proper use of PowerPoint and presentations. 3) Demonstrating and understanding of culture and cultural terms. 4) Cooperative learning and group skills are demonstrated. 5) Presentation and public speaking skills.

The time capsule should include the following:

· A title slide, which captures the central theme about life today. You may choose your own theme to explore. Remember, you are trying to send a message to the future, about life today. You can use such broad themes as [base "]The age of Technology[per thou] or focus on a narrow sub-culture element such as [base "]Extreme Sports[per thou] or [base "]The world of the Homeless.[per thou] You are free to examine a uniquely American theme or approach the assignment on a more global level. · At least 10 visuals taken from the Internet. Each image should include both title and Internet sources. · An interpretation slide should accompany each visual. It should explain how the image supports the central theme. · A final summary slide should conclude the [base "]Presentation to the Future[per thou], and give student credits.
