As Building Technology Coordinator at Glenwood Ridge Elementary instructing students in computer skills and offering technical support to our staff are the primary goals. The student skills are best learned if the material being taught is integrated with what the student is learning in their homeroom classroom. By participating in the TLCF Workshop I hope to increase my understanding of how to better integrate the basic elementary classroom disciplines with technology from lesson ideas to software to web actvities.

Application of the knowledge gained from the workshop will come in the way of published lesson activities on the cadre's website as well as the GRES site, incorporating available internet resources (research, web shareware, etc.) and continuing with software currently used by involving new principles and ideas. Specifically, using trackstar to make available sites the students may access that are applicable to the project at hand, creating Powerpoint presentations to aid in the instruction of a new skill, project or software (this will be especially helpful with training of fellow staff members) and increasing communication with the classroom teachers to facilitate the integration process.

In integrating technology with the classroom disciplines the students will be encouraged to explore the vast amount of resources available to them and will increasingly look for ways to express the information learned in creative and new formats.
