Janice Flanagan

Mon, Jul 9, 2001; by Janice Flanagan.

Janice Flanagan: I submitted a letter in the spring to our district technololgy coordinator, Jeff Andrews. I told Jeff I wanted to become more knowledgable in how to incorportate technology into my classroom instruction. I asked if I could audit the class, because I did not feel I was qualified to be chosen as part of the cadre. In my letter I stated I was eager to learn more about ways to integrate technology into my instruction, and that during my years of teaching I have worked on many committees and felt I could learn and lend my new found expertise to fellow teachers. When I found out that I had been chosen I was thrilled.

What do I hope to get out of this week long workshop? I came today with the expectation of learning about resources and seeing and hearing examples from other educators who've implemented these ideas/strategies in their content areas.

I am a teacher who likes to incorporate new strategies and ideas into my classroom. I like learning to be a positive experience and I feel good when I see my children learning new things in an environment where they are actively engaged. I believe that integration of technology will allow my children to have more ownership of their learning experiences.
