Ann Andrews:

I wanted to take this class in order to improve my knowledge of technology. We have so much of it in our building, and I'm frustrated because it's not well used by most staff, myself included. We just don't have the time to play around and figure out how to use the software. I try to use our computer lab often, and I use my classroom computer for instruction, but I'm in a rut. I seem to do a lot of the same things in the lab or in my room.

Hopefully, this class will inspire me to create new lessons using technology in my curriculum. I want ideas from other teachers, good websites, anything that has been tried and worked. I also want to take back ideas to my staff. I've inserviced our staff before on certain programs, and most of them are willing to learn. The problem is time. Most of us are too busy with what we already have to do. One of my goals is to make integrating technology into my curriculum quick and easy. If I can do that, so can other teachers. The more of us that use it, the better, right??

It's not only good for staff, but for the kids. Technology integration is just one more teaching strategy that I want to use in my class to keep it fresh and fun.
