I wanted to participate in the class so that I can increase my computer knowledge and create a better learning environment for my students. I do use some technology in my math classes, but it is limited mainly to research. However, I haven't limited their research and this has wasted class time.

I also want to be able to give my students more technology options when they complete class projects. I often limit them because I do not know how to use the technology myself. If they get "stuck" on something, I often don't know how to help them. I know that this may sound silly, but I want to learn how to connect my computer to the LCD so that I can use Inspiration with the entire class, or students can present a slide show to the class. We have some of these technological options available to use in the district, but don't know how to properly use them.

I am really interested in learning how to use a digital camera. I think that this would be very interesting and motivational to students if this technology was incorporated into their lessons and projects.

By increasing my technology knowledge and increasing the resourses available to me, I expect my instruction to improve. It will also raise my level of expectations for my students. By limiting their searches, I will make better use of class time. Also, by creating more interactive learning opportunities, the students will have a better understanding of the concepts being taught.
