I am participating in this workshop because I am interested in using technology in teaching the curriculum. I teach 6th grade math and literature. We have been writing curriculum and are now developing units and assessments; technology integration is the next step.

I hope to learn how to integrate technology without adding to the curriculum. I want it to naturally fit into what I am required to teach without taking time away. I want it to enhance, not distract.

My next step is to start integrating the technology into already created units. My goal for this first year is to incorporate technology in at least one unit per module. I look forward to sharing and collecting ideas from my colleagues.

I expect technology to help me reach more students; to help those who need remedial help as well as enrichment. Students will receive more personal and individualized instruction as well as be able to seek out resources, assistance, and challenges on their own.
