The project will include the following activities:
  • The Piper Middle School computer technology lab will be set up with sufficient software and other resources to perform the training of at least 24 workshop participants.
  • At least 24 staff members will participate in the summer workshop, with each of the three districts being represented by several staff members.
  • Faculty inservice workshops on technology integration will be developed and scheduled by the workshop participants.
  • The workshop-trained personnel will assist and advise all faculty members in developing technology-integrated curriculum units.
  • Classroom teachers will develop technology-integrated curriculum projects with help/advice from the original 24 workshop participants.
  • Students will experience more intensive, hands-on, technologically-integrated curriculum units in the classroom.
The anticipated accomplishments of this project include:
  • development of a certified staff competent in the use of electronic communication technology in the classroom.
  • creation of specific technology-integrated curriculum units available for dissemination.
  • step-by-step report of the structure and technique of the project available for dissemination.
  • assessment of the success of the project available for dissemination.
  • measurable increase in the use of technology as a classroom resource.
  • measurable increase of student use of technology in completing classroom assignment/projects.
  • tested computer technology improvement plan that can be disseminated to other school districts.
