Goals and Objectives
The goals of the project are:
- increased integration of computer technology in all classrooms.
- increased student use of technology.
- improved technological competency of teachers and students.
- collaboration of teachers and students on projects that utilize computer technology.
The objectives of the project are to:
- train a cadre of staff members to a sufficient degree that they can serve as trainers/advisors for the remaining certified staff.
- develop practical technology-integrated curriculum units in the July, 2001 workshop that will be disseminated to district teachers and other school districts.
- increase the competency in computer technology of all certified staff members in the three participating districts through scheduled inservice workshops and staff advising/mentoring.
Long term goals:
- All teachers in the three districts will acquire sufficient competency in technology so that they will use it consistently as a classroom resource. This goal will be achieved by using the original technology-integration workshop participants as trainers of the remainder of the district staff.
- All products and experiences of ASIST Team members will be shared with other teachers in the three participating districts and all interested parties across the state and throughout the nation.
