The goals of the project are:
  • increased integration of computer technology in all classrooms.
  • increased student use of technology.
  • improved technological competency of teachers and students.
  • collaboration of teachers and students on projects that utilize computer technology.
The objectives of the project are to:
  • train a cadre of staff members to a sufficient degree that they can serve as trainers/advisors for the remaining certified staff.
  • develop practical technology-integrated curriculum units in the July, 2001 workshop that will be disseminated to district teachers and other school districts.
  • increase the competency in computer technology of all certified staff members in the three participating districts through scheduled inservice workshops and staff advising/mentoring.
Long term goals:
  • All teachers in the three districts will acquire sufficient competency in technology so that they will use it consistently as a classroom resource. This goal will be achieved by using the original technology-integration workshop participants as trainers of the remainder of the district staff.
  • All products and experiences of ASIST Team members will be shared with other teachers in the three participating districts and all interested parties across the state and throughout the nation.
