Project Description: The student is asked to create a web page using Project Poster from HPR*TEC (http://wizard.hprtec.org). This project asks the students to envision themselves as a product of the 19th century Industrial Revolution in England. Project focus is not limited to factory workers, but can cover factory owners, political leaders, etc.

The Project Poster will include the following:

1. Minimum of 3 pictures (excluding clip art) Pictures should be relevant to the time and should be used only to enhance understanding of the project. Although clip-art is acceptable, it may not be counted as a picture.

2. 500-word character sketch. Although the character sketch should be creative in nature, it must include at least 10 facts to support its validity. Each fact should then be notated by a reference to the site from which the information was taken. To notate, place the abbreviated name of the site in parentheses following the fact. (e.g. Spartacus)

3. Links to 4 websites. Two teacher-supplied websites as well as two student-discovered websites must be included on the project poster. Each link must be valid and include a title. Student-discovered sites must be relevant and used in the Character Sketch (at least one fact per site). This work must be original. Any effort to cut and paste from the original will be considered plagiarism and earn the student a zero.
