Kansas Language Arts Standards

Objective: Using technology, students will develop a media project which involves the following:

1. Proficiency in multimedia research
2. Communication skills through oral, written, and visual mediums
3. Integration of technology
4. Collaboration
5. Multiple intelligences
6. Problem solving
7. Organizational and compilation skills

Activities:

1. Pre-write Activity: Film Concept Web
2. Two-Four page Research Paper
3. Oral Presentation of Research
4. Participate in a Computer Simulation Making A Movie
5. Script or Storyboard and Rubric
6. Create a Time Capsule
7. Create a Movie Marquee
8. Produce a Movie
9. Complete Collaborative Workskills Rubric
9. Complete Rubric Reflection Sheets
10.Millenium Movie Mania Film Festival (Culminating Activity)

Time Frame:
This project will take approximately two weeks. Students will be given an opportunity to choose an event to research from America's Twentieth Century History for the purpose of developing and producing a movie. They will be allowed to work in no larger than four-person groups of their choosing to complete the required activities.
