Wild and Wonderful Weather
Overview: An integrated technology weather project for the intermediate classroom and computer lab.

Procedure:
1. Students will record weather conditions daily including date, temperature, barometric reading, wind speed, predicted temperature from several sources (see image below), and a visual observation (sunny, cloudy, etc.) on both a written log and a spreadsheet on the classroom computer.
2. Students will create a graph using their recorded data from the spreadsheet. Multiple graphs may be created including line graphs showing temperatures for the month, comparing predicted versus actual daily temperatures or comparing predictors.
3. Using Appleworks Drawing, students will develop a weather map depicting weather conditions for the entire United States using the Apple library for graphics and the internet for weather information. The drawing will contain a national map, a legend of symbols and their explanations, and the graphics pertaining to the current weather patterns.
