  • Demonstrate research skills using technology
  • Demonstrate communication skills through oral presentations
  • Produce an integrated final project incorporating technology

Project Requirements: You many work by yourself or in a group of no more than three students. Select a topic that is of interest to your group. Your topic should include math and science topic/skills.

Each of the following components are worth 10 points each except the lab write up which is worth 20 points. The following components are required for each group.

  • PowerPoint presentation ; 20 points
  • Digital camera ; 10 points
  • Scanner; 10 points
  • Graphing calculator ; 10 points

    Projected Timeline:
    Research; 3 days
    Writing/typing paper; 2 days
    Conduct lab ; 3 days
Creating charts, graphs and/or table; 2 day
    Oral presentation preparation; 3 days
    Interactive component ; 2 days

Getting Started: You will be grading according to the following rubrics. Note that all rubrics will be used except "Making A Game" unless you choose that project for your interactive piece. The rubrics can be viewed as follows: Science Project Checklist: 13626 Research report: 25624 Science fair experiment: 25630 Multimedia project: 25633 Oral presentation: 25626 Making a game: 25636

The criteria is listed above, now it's time to begin researching. We selected the topic of Fibonacci Sequences in math and science. We started by researching our topic. We have sites listed on Track Star.

After you have completed your research you will need to write your paper. Don't forget your bibliography. This Citation site should be able to help you if you get stuck. With your paper complete, you will need to decide on a project, experiment or display. You will need to follow the steps in The Scientific Process. As you complete the experiment, be sure to keep current with writing up the steps. Last, you will be creating and decorating your display. This display will be your backdrop for the oral presentation. Here's an example of a display.

While completing this project, please refer to the rubrics that are provided on the website. Below is an example of how your display board might be arranged. Be creative and have fun.
