Hi, my name is Becky Knetter and I teach a number of science classes at Piper High School. I am also doing some post-doctoral work at the University of Kansas in the area of immunology, developing curricular materials for secondary students and using those materials with our students at Piper. I want to scan some high resolution/magnification slides of blood cells involved in the immune response and develop a slide show presentation that can be used during our microbiology/immunology unit. Preparing/helping students to prepare an interactive web site for students to solve problems and ask questions with links to experts would be benificial. I really like the application "Inspiration" and plan to use it with our students developing concept maps in the areas of weather, geology, plate techtonics, the solar system and other units of study. Many of the assignments in the advanced science classes require that students use web resources. I am always interested in new ideas, and technology enhances students ability to learn in new and different ways. These are several of the reasons I've taken this course.
