Frederick Douglass Assignment.

Complete the following assignments to better your understanding of life as a slave in the United States before the Civil War.

On page 572 of your literature book you'll find an assignment called "Inquiry & Research." In order to fully understand how Frederick Douglass felt in his life as a slave you could do some research about slave laws during the 1800's. Find at least 5 laws that pertained to slaves and write them down.

After you read the selection, "Narrative in the Life of Frederick Douglass," answer questions #1-6 on p. 571 in complete sentences. Then choose either "Writing Options #1 or #4" on p. 572. When you've finished answering the questions, complete the "Cooperative Learning Activity" assignment in the "Literary Analysis" box on p. 571.
