Creation Myth Project

In this project you will write your own creation myth or folk tale. The story needs to explain how something, someone, or some being was created or came into existence. This story must be 2 pages, well-written and you must be able to relate it to two or more of Joseph Cambell's 4 functions of a myth. (See p. 31 in your Lit. Book.) You should also fill out Joan Andersen's Guide to Analyzing Creation Myths about your own tale.

You must show evidence of brainstorming (a word web is a good idea), an outline and a rough draft before handing in your final draft to Mrs. Meek.

The presentation must include a visual aid (poster, model, artwork, collage....)

So, you hand in the following:

•Brainstorming activities

•Guide to analyzing Creation Myths (about your story)

•An outline of the paper

•The rough draft of the paper

•Final draft of the creation story you've written.

•A visual aid that shows what creation myth is all about

Be creative and have fun!
