About the Instructor
Leslee Meek Basehor-Linwood H.S. English
The 2005-2006 school year marks my eighth year of teaching high school English, but it is my first year in the Basehor-Linwood School District. From 1998-2004, I taught at Fort Campbell High School in Kentucky. My husband is on active duty in the Army, so teaching at a military high school was a great fit. However, I have found that moving around affords me the opportunity to meet wonderful students in many countries and states. As of this last move, I've lived in nine states and one foreign country. Each move has been an exciting adventure, and I always look forward to meeting new people.
Prior to teaching high school, I taught on the college level at Hopkinsville Community College in Kentucky. I worked with students to help them write on the college level and tutored many students in grammar. Earlier in my teaching career, I was involved in the Head Start program and taught pre-school, which was very exciting and rewarding.
I have been married for 27 years to Terry, and we have a son named Seth, who is a police officer, and a daughter named Terri, who is married to Sam and has a daughter named Shelby. I love being a grandmother! It's more fun than being a parent- even though I still do like my children!
I look forward to working with each of my virtual students and hope that you enjoy American Literature as much as I do.
