Assessments
Since individual hard copy tests are available in the math book at the end of each chapter, social studies and science books have chapter reviews and assessments in their workbooks, I made pre and post tests over my curricular areas that would test the standards and benchmarks that are listed for the Kansas curriculum. I wanted my on-line tests to be generic enough and inclusive enough so that there would be a place where parents could find tests that would assess what the Kansas curriculum expects First Graders to know, not specific information contained in a particular textbook.
Standards Based Curriculum:
Elementary School "Online Testing Expectations" Pass all Online Tests with at least 80% or better. If the student earns a score below 80% on an online test, he/she is expected to retake that particular test or quiz. The two test scores will then be averaged. The highest averaged score possible will be an 80%. This gives the student the opportunity to master the material at a higher level, and receive a better test score through additional review of the content. The student will be expected to use test retaking opportunities appropriately. If the student has not met 80% mastery of the material after two test attempts, we would not encourage continued retaking of the test or quiz. Additional support can be sought through the grade level support staff. If you have any questions please contact Brenda DeGroot or Nicole Williams at (913) 724-1727
Beat the Clock Here you will find 3 minute timed math tests for addition and subtraction facts through 18. Social Studies You will find tests for our Social Studies book in the textbook itself. Science You will find a review at the end of each chapter. The workbook is an awesome way to assess the basic skill taught.
